Kushiro
Kushiro is the largest city in eastern Hokkaido with a population of about 200,000 residents. Kushiro is famous for it’s wildlife, especially in Kushiro Shitsugen
National Park. This nature preserve has the largest marshland in Japan at about 268.61 square kilometers (103.71 square miles). The park is a sanctuary for Japanese cranes. Every year hundreds of photographers visit the area to photograph these amazing birds.
Visitors also visit Kushiro for it is seafood which is known as some of the finest in the nation. The Washo market is the best place to enjoy all kind of sushi and sashimi.
